I want The 911 Lady to be a place everyone can use, including people with disabilities and people using screen readers, keyboards, magnifiers, or other assistive tools.
What I’m aiming for
I use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, as my guide. In practice, that means clear language, readable text and colors, meaningful headings, descriptive alt text for images, and pages that work with a keyboard. I’m one person building this site, so I won’t claim every page is perfect, but I keep working toward that goal.
What’s already here
- An accessibility button on every page (the blue icon in the corner) lets you adjust text size, contrast, and more.
- Interactive picture pages, like the Fishbowl, are built so the clickable spots can be reached with a keyboard and are named for screen readers.

Some links on this site lead to other organizations’ websites. I can’t control how accessible they are, but if one of them blocks you from something you need, tell me and I’ll try to help you find another way to get the information.
